FAQS
-
I am new to Reformer Pilates, how do I use those weird machines?"Yup – they look kinda strange don’t they, and scary if you have never used one before! But don’t worry... most of us have walked into our first Pilates class where we were looking around thinking WTF!? We promise you will catch on more quickly then you realise, and our lovely instructors are here to assist and help you in every way, and make sure you’re feeling comfortable.
-
I have an injury or medical condition. Can I still do your Pilates classes? You absolutely can still join our Pilates classes, but please let us know if you have any medical conditions, injuries, or if you’re pregnant or on any medication. Our wonderful Pilates instructors are awesome at modifying our classes to suit the needs of all our customers, they just need to know what conditions / injuries you may have so they can make sure they are giving you the best instruction possible. If there’s anything that you’re concerned about and would like to talk through with one of our instructors before coming to a class, give us a call to chat beforehand. We’re here to help!
-
I am not super fit, am I going to die in your classes?"NO! All our classes are small group training, and are suited to all fitness levels, wether you are running a marathon every second week, or prefer your marathons on Netflix! We layer our exercises from Beginner to Advanced, which means we can cater to people who are new to Pilates at the same time as working with those who have been doing Pilates for years. You won’t feel like the classes are too hard (or too easy!) as we make sure everyone is going at the pace they’re most comfortable with.
-
I am pregnant... is Pilates safe for my baby?YES! We love Baby Mammas to be! We love having pregnant mammas in our classes (and we won’t treat you like you are about to break), however we do ask that expecting Mum’s don’t enrol in our Reformer – Go Hard classes.
-
What should I wear?Comfy Clothes and Grippy Socks! We recommend leggings or trackies, and a comfortable sports bra. The most important thing is that you can move and feel comfortable. Grippy Socks are compulsory to protect our beautiful reformers and for hygiene reasons, if you don’t have a pair of Grippy Socks you can purchase them in studio.
-
What should I bring?Your lovely self, a water bottle and a towel if you tend to get a bit sweaty, that’s it! Don’t worry if you forget your water... we have water available for purchase if you do, but we prefer you bring your own reusable bottle rather than buy something you have to throw away!
-
How early should I come? And what if I am running late?We like to keep things moving so as we only have a five-minute turnaround between classes, please arrive 5-10 minutes before your class begins. If you are a few minutes late that’s all good, however we have a responsibility not to allow you to join the class if it’s been running for ten minutes or longer. This is because you will miss the crucial warm up and we don’t want you to hurt yourself.
-
Where do I park?If you’re familiar with Elwood, you’ll know that for all the amazing perks it does have one thing lacking – good parking! Parking can certainly be tricky around Ormond Road, but don’t let that deter you away from our beautiful studio. There are stacks of places to park just go a couple of blocks away from the main strip and a 5-minute walk is the perfect warm up to take the frustration away from that person who stole your spot out the front!
-
I have a friendly dog...We love dogs! Please make sure they have pooed and weed, but they are welcome to chill out in our beautiful courtyard while you workout.
-
Where are you located? We are located right in the heart of Ormond Road, Elwood (Melbourne's bayside area) between the Newsagency and Foxes Den. Go through the wooden gate all the way down the path, and you will see our door on the left. If the wooden gate is closed please press the buzzer! We will let you in. How do the class Waitlists work?Firstly, get on those waitlists for our Pilates classes! Because you can book your Pilates classes up to a month in advance, people get excited and book ahead, only to drop out closer to the date. As such, 90% of the time you will get into the class you want. Next, make sure you have your notifications on! Text is preferable! This way you will be notified as soon as a spot becomes available, and you can confirm or deny that spot straight away. But it’s important you think of going on a waitlist like a booking though, if you are on the waitlist, we will assume you can come to class!
-
What is your class Cancellation Policy? Our class cancellation policy is 5 hours. This gives anyone on the waitlist enough time to be able to jump into the class. If you cancel within 5 hours of the class start time, you will be charged $10. This just helps ensure we are keeping it fair for all our members.
